I feel like I'm dragging my feet a little with this project. I'm a few weeks behind and always seem to have a weeks worth sitting on my desktop come Friday. Maybe I'll head back to daily posts.

Rescuing thinned carrots for her fairy vegie garden. I always feel heartless thinning seedlings after all that work to get their heads above ground.

Ole!
Niamh can now climb onto chairs. I walked into the dining room the other day to find her sitting on the table playing away quite happily with a box of matches and a candle. There were so many things that could have happened, like burnt fingers (the candle was lit and in a hot glass), a spilt vase of flowers, falling off the table, broken crockery, tears, but she was more than happy to just empty the matchbox and fill it again. I've taught both my girls early about heat and cold. Hot oven, hot cups of tea, hot candles. 'Hot' was one of Niamh's first words. When the oven is on and she walks past, feeling it's radiating heat, she holds out her hands, takes them away quickly and says "hot", when there's steam, it's "hot", when it's a cold morning and you can see our breath, it's hot. As a parent sometimes you win them sometimes you lose them. I'm taking this as a win and a sign we now need to keep the chairs pushed in {until she's strong enough to move them anyway} or out and away. I've been favouring the out and away when I'm in the room with her becasue she's a climber and climb she will. I figure the more practice she gets, the safer she'll be.
