The secrets of the dawn when a hundred songs are sung
Autumn will be born in the calm before the storm
So Mother Earth gave her child PJ's
A fiery, flaming,
reddish nightgown.
A brilliant, bursting, yellowish robe.
Two burnt, blistering, orangish slippers.
A tawny, tarnished, goldish nightcap.
And that's how she was dressed before taking a rest.
We've been reading Lynn Plourde's Wild Child for a few seasons now but it still manages to capture our imagination every year when the leaves begin to turn. The colours around us at the moment really make me stop and soak it all in. It is such a good reminder to find some stillness in each day, a reminder me to slow down, breathe and find presence in the here and now.
I hope that you to have been able to find some beauty and stillness in your day.
